ABSTRACT: This study investigates the impact of cultural awareness training on vocational educators, focusing on enhancing their effectiveness in teaching culturally diverse student populations. The objectives were to (1) evaluate the current state of cultural awareness training programs for vocational educators, (2) assess the perceived benefits and challenges associated with these programs, and (3) propose strategies to improve cultural competence among vocational educators. A survey research design was chosen to collect data from vocational educators and administrators, providing insights into their experiences with cultural awareness training and its impact on teaching practices. The sample size comprised 150 participants, selected through purposive sampling to include educators from diverse vocational disciplines and regions across Nigeria. The case study focused on Enugu State, recognized for its cultural diversity and proactive educational reforms. Findings indicated that cultural awareness training positively influenced educators' ability to create inclusive learning environments, understand cultural nuances, and support diverse student needs. Effective training strategies included workshops on cultural sensitivity, immersive learning experiences, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Recommendations included integrating cultural competence standards into vocational education curricula, fostering collaboration among educators from different cultural backgrounds, and promoting culturally responsive teaching practices.
